Report
from Carol Spencer regarding Hathaway Road Park Play Equipment.
Andrea
has agreed for work on Hathaway Road Park to commence.
Project
agreement completed and funds of approx. £20,000. TBC hold the funds. The forum need to plan the park.
Not
to worry about VAT as all costs through the council, to email Andrea for costs.
Packs
were taken to the Playnetwork day and parents and
teenagers were approached to complete the pack. They were given a selection of
outdoor fitness equipment to choose from. Discussion took place on what the
target market was. At previous discussions at the forum meetings and through
discussions with some local residents, the forum had made a decision to put
into place equipment for the older generation of residents to encourage the use
of the park area and to help raise a ‘keep fit’ profile for the park. It was
discussed that there should be some benches in the park also.
CS
mentioned that all play equipment needs to meet EN1176.
More
information of the type of equipment that is available to be brought to the
next meeting.
It
was mentioned that a section of the park was being used to store equipment
whilst a storm drain was being repaired/replaced in Ward Avenue. It is expected
that the site will be returned to normal after the work has been completed.
Next
months meeting will be used to try to finalise choices for the park and to
include some benches.
CB
left the meeting at 8pm.
