Update from Ross
- Any Other Business:
- Sharon Pritchard – Waste
and Recycling
Sharon gave a talk on promoting
recycling. 67% of our waste goes to landfill and 33% recycled. A few years ago
it was just 10% recycled. All green waste can be turned into soil improver.
Kitchen, garden and cooked food can be put into the new brown bins. 1700
leaflets dropped, only 6 people turned up. All schools have blue boxes. There
is a new reuse and recycling centre at West Thurrock.
- Holly O’Neill
Schools in Chafford
Hundred have breakfast and after school clubs, who
work with the community. They would like one of us to come along to their next
meeting. Thurrock has been given extra money to
provide somewhere for youths to go on Friday’s and Saturday’s. Kingsley is
trying to get a sports centre up and running.
c. Kingsley would like lights in Hathaway Road Park. Geoffrey to
approach council.
d. Jean asked about the bark for the memorial gardens. Ross to speak to Luke Love.
e. Yash Gupta
mentioned that the councils are looking at the funding of the forums to see
what money is being spent. Need to ensure that all our funding requests are
completed on time so that we do not lose our money. The council are £6,000,000
short and are looking at ways of saving money.
