  1. Meeting opened at 7.30pm, All welcomed.
  2. Apologies: None
  3. Agreed minutes of 10th February.

 

 

  1.  Matters arising:

a.     Bark Chippings from TBC 

     We require 52 bags of chippings. Cost £500. Discussion about money put aside, Ross not available to confirm. Keys for the Rest Gardens are located at the library.

b.     Hathaway Road Park. Paths have been done and they are ‘not too bad’. The childrens play area is okay.

c.     Ross dealing with Piggs corner. We were unsuccessful for funding for the playbuilders scheme . There was a discussion about lighting in the park. GN suggested shining the car lights into the park.

 

  1.  Chairs Report

a.     Herbert Brookes Memorial Rest Garden opening ceremony delayed. Negotiating dates at present.  Who?

b.     Hathaway Road Park ‘ Playday’ booked for August 12th. VW stated that South Ockendon are having stalls on their day. Discussion about riding motorbikes. It is not breaking the law to ride without a helmet if on a private road.

c.     The sign at the park is green as this is what the council wanted. Discussion about how to make clearer to see. Suggestion of backing with white plastic. Ross to get a quote.

d.     Continued discussion about park.  Cllr Gupta has sent an email. The grass will only be cut twice a year( biodiversity?) Can we send a reply? They will be cutting pathways in the grass. There needs to be a fire break between the grass and fences?

e.     CIB meeting did anyone attend? GN did not pass on information. SV said that lots of forums attended.

f.      GN said that it would be nice for Moira to attend the dedication at the rest gardens.

g.     Question raised about who has keys for the notice board. - CB
